In this fun filled half day session your children, and you too if you want, can learn how to make the original You Can't Do That On Television Slime and be filmed having it dumped on you.

This is not about acting but having a fun and messy time.

NOTE:  This is not an audition.

 

We are not the only game in town and, especially with a new movie studio now on the cards for Ottawa learning how to do well in an audition is important. What can you and your child do which will give your child the best chance of getting that coveted role?

We cover audition tips and techniques. How your child should be dressed, what to take with you, etc. 

 

Lesson #1: Do not pay to attend any auditions.

NB. When T.H.E. and Kid Next Door hold auditions for their productions those are freely open to anyone whether or not they are students of KAMP School.

We kit you up as a Pop Star and you arrive at your own party in a Pop Star Limo complete with bodyguards. ​

For even more fun we can stage and film a walkabout in Ottawa with your birthday Guests acting as Fans and you arriving somewhere in a Limo and protected by Bodyguards while a film crew records it, photographers take pictures and your 'Fans' scream for Selfies and Autographs.

No-one can look after the interests of or care about the success and happiness of your child more than you their parent. Do not be intimidated by the the traditional image of the 'Stage Mother' pushing her child to live out her own failed dreams. It is true that such people do exist, but almost all the parents of talented and ambitious children are not Stage Parents in the pejorative sense, they are CARING and SUPPORTIVE parents.

 

So do not be afraid of doing your best to help your child succeed in achieving their ambitions. And above all take no notice of the 'Haters' who are motivated almost entirely by jealousy.

Improv (Making it up as you go along) is the very foundation of our style of acting.

​

Students learn to think on their feet and work cooperatively with the other actors in the scene. It is a huge help when they move on to working with scripts. They know to react and interact with the other actors, not just wait their turn to recite their line. 

 

Learning to act naturally is essential for acting in front of a camera. Being confident and open in speaking helps you not only for auditions but also verbal exams, job interviews, public speaking and just getting on in life.
